ESQUIRE SAYS, “ THE BEST OF COACHELLA 2013 UNDERCARD”
Michael Durazo and Nigel Dettelbach met in 2007 on the way to "No-chella Fest" in the high desert of Southern California. Fate would have it that the two ended up on the same shuttle bus on the way to the show and hit it off right away, sharing a bottle of whiskey and talking Black Sabbath, Oldies, and the Dead Boys. Both decided to jam. They got together a few days later in Desert Hot Springs, California and began recording demos in Michael's garage in Browns Town on a little multi-track recorder. Soon after their shows became these wild desert gatherings, adding new drummer Nigel Carnahan along with guitarist Adrian Carreño, they quickly gained a reputation for having crazy/unpredictable performances.
"They like things a little dangerous because that's the way rock 'n' roll SHOULD be."
In 2015 the band put out its first full length album "Shurpedelic". Since then, Slipping's music has taken them all over, such as the Main Stage at the Coachella Festival in 2013. They’ve been featured in multiple skateboarding videos including Zero, Transworld, Circa, Epidemic, and in the recent "Desert Age" music documentary featuring Josh Homme and Dave Grohl. Songs from their current album "Tell It Like It Is" & "Moon Diamond" are being used in a upcoming high action movie coming out in 2016.
